Classic Marble Cake Recipe: A Swirl of Deliciousness

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake pan to prevent sticking.

Prepare the batter: In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until smooth and creamy. Add the butter or oil, milk, and flour. Mix until well combined.

Separate the batter: Divide the batter into two equal parts. To one half, sift in the cocoa powder and optional instant coffee. Mix the cocoa into the batter thoroughly.

Create the marble effect: Begin layering the two batters alternately—start with a spoonful of the vanilla (white) batter, then add a spoonful of the cocoa (brown) batter. Continue layering the batters until the mixture is used up.

Swirl the batters: Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the two batters together to create the marble effect. Don’t overmix, as you want the marbling to be distinct.

Bake the cake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool and serve: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
