Boil the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions, drain, and set aside. Drizzle a bit of olive oil over the noodles to prevent sticking.
2. Prepare the Meat Sauce:
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
Once browned, drain excess fat and stir in the marinara sauce.
Season the sauce with garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Prepare the Ricotta Mixture:
In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and egg. Stir until smooth and well combined.
4. Assemble the Lasagna:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom.
Place a layer of lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.
Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
Add another layer of meat sauce, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese.
Repeat with another layer of noodles, the remaining ricotta mixture, and meat sauce.
Finish with a final layer of noodles, topped with the remaining meat sauce and mozzarella cheese.
5. Bake the Lasagna:
Cover the lasagna with foil and bake for about 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
Let the lasagna rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
6. Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
Serve with a side of garlic bread and green salad for a complete meal.
