Boil the lasagna noodles in salted water according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Meat Sauce:
In a large skillet, sauté onions and garlic in olive oil until softened. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat. Add marinara sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with the egg, half of the shredded mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
Assemble the Lasagna:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place a layer of lasagna noodles on top. Add a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture, then top with some meat sauce and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of meat sauce and the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
Bake:
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serve:
Let the lasagna sit for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley for a beautiful finish.
