In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, and egg.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
Make the Cinnamon Swirl:
In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release the air. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
Roll the dough into a rectangle (about 12×8 inches). Brush the top with the melted butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the surface.
Shape the Bread:
Carefully roll the dough into a log, starting from one of the longer edges. Pinch the edges together to seal.
Place the rolled dough seam-side down into a greased loaf pan (9×5 inches). Cover the pan with a towel and let the dough rise for another 30 minutes, or until it has risen slightly above the rim of the pan.
Bake the Bread:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Make the Glaze (Optional):
While the bread is cooling, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread for an extra sweet touch.
Serve and Enjoy:
Slice the bread once it has cooled and serve. Enjoy it fresh with a cup of coffee or tea, or toast it for a warm, delicious treat.
