Chocolate Layer Cake with Mascarpone Cream and Nutella Frosting

Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.

Mix dry ingredients:
In a bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Set aside.

Prepare the batter:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy. Add the melted butter and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients. Then, add the milk and mix until smooth.

Bake the cakes:
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool completely before frosting.

For the Mascarpone Cream:
Whip the cream:
In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

Combine mascarpone and cream:
In a separate bowl, gently mix the mascarpone cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Carefully fold in the whipped cream until smooth and creamy.

For the Nutella Frosting:
Prepare the frosting:
In a bowl, whisk together Nutella, softened butter, and powdered sugar until smooth. Add milk a little at a time to reach your desired frosting consistency.
