Chinese Pepper Steak

In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, cornstarch, sesame oil, garlic powder, and black pepper for the marinade. Whisk until smooth.
Add the sliced beef to the marinade and toss to coat. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes to tenderize and absorb the flavors.
Step 2: Prepare the Sauce
In another small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and beef broth or water.
If you prefer a thicker sauce, dissolve 1 teaspoon of cornstarch in a little water and add it to the sauce mixture. Stir well to combine.
Step 3: Cook the Beef
Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
Add the marinated beef to the pan and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until the beef is cooked through and browned on all sides. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
Step 4: Cook the Vegetables
In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced bell peppers and onions to the pan.
Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.
Step 5: Combine the Beef and Sauce
Return the beef to the skillet with the vegetables.
Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and vegetables, stirring to coat everything evenly.
Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the beef and vegetables.
