If not already cooked, prepare the chicken breast. Shred or slice it, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
Assemble the Sandwich:
Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on one side of each bread slice.
Layer the shredded chicken on top of the sauce on one slice of bread.
Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese over the chicken.
Optionally, sprinkle dried basil and garlic powder for added flavor.
Place the second slice of bread on top, sauce side down.
Cook the Sandwich:
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter. Use more if you want a crispier sandwich.
Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted. Press gently with a spatula for an even crust.
Serve:
Remove from the skillet and allow the sandwich to cool for a minute. Slice and serve hot!
