Cheesy Chicken and Potato Bake

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with olive oil or non-stick cooking spray.

Prepare the base: Layer the sliced potatoes evenly in the bottom of the baking dish. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Place the chicken breasts on top of the potatoes, and season with salt, pepper, and thyme.

Add garlic and onions: Scatter the minced garlic and sliced onions over the chicken and potatoes. Drizzle the olive oil over the top to enhance the flavor.

Pour the cream: Pour the heavy cream (or milk) evenly over the potatoes and chicken to keep everything moist while baking.

Bake the dish: Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 35-40 minutes. Ensure the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F), and the potatoes are tender.

Add cheese: Remove the foil and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the chicken and potatoes. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and serve: After baking, garnish with chopped parsley (if desired) and serve hot.
