If using ground beef or turkey, brown the meat in a skillet over medium heat. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Once cooked, stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti with the sauce mixture. Stir in the ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, and the beaten egg, mixing until well combined.
Transfer the pasta mixture to the prepared baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese, spreading it evenly over the entire surface.
Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, if desired, and serve hot.
