Cheesy Baked Meatloaf: A Comforting Family Favorite

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet or loaf pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Step 2: Soak the Breadcrumbs
In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let them sit for 5 minutes until softened. This step keeps the meatloaf moist and tender.

Step 3: Mix the Meatloaf
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, soaked breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, diced onion, minced garlic, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, and parsley. Mix gently with your hands or a spatula until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to prevent a tough texture.

Step 4: Shape & Bake
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking sheet or loaf pan. Shape it into an even loaf. Bake for 40 minutes.

Step 5: Add Sauce & Cheese
After 40 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven. Spread the marinara sauce over the top, then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly.

Step 6: Bake Until Golden
Return to the oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown.

Step 7: Rest & Serve
Let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm!
