Cabbage Casserole In One Pot: So Much Easier Than Cabbage Rolls – 99 Easy!

In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat a bit of oil over medium heat.
Add the ground beef (or your preferred meat) and chopped onion. Cook until the meat is browned and the onion is softened, about 5-7 minutes.
Drain any excess fat from the meat, if necessary.
Step 2: Add the Cabbage and Seasoning
Add the chopped cabbage to the pot, stirring well to combine.
Season with garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together.
Step 3: Add the Tomatoes and Rice
Pour in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and Worcestershire sauce.
Stir in the cooked rice and brown sugar. Mix well to combine.
Step 4: Simmer
Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low. Let everything simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and all the flavors have melded together.
Step 5: Add Cheese (Optional)
If using, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the casserole and cover the pot.
Let the cheese melt for 5-7 minutes, then remove from heat.
Step 6: Serve and Enjoy
Serve the casserole warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired. This dish pairs beautifully with a simple salad or crusty bread on the side.
