Butter Swim Biscuits Recipe

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Mix to ensure the dry ingredients are evenly distributed.

Add Buttermilk: Pour in the buttermilk and stir everything together until a moist dough forms. The dough should be sticky but cohesive.

Prepare the Pan: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Once melted, pour the butter into an 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish. (Ensure your pan is deep enough to hold the butter without overflowing.)

Spread the Dough: Place the dough directly on top of the melted butter. Use a spatula to spread it evenly across the pan, making sure the dough touches the sides of the dish.

Cut the Dough: Using a knife, cut the unbaked dough into 9 even squares. The dough will be swimming in butter at this point, which helps make the biscuits extra crispy on the bottom.

Bake: Bake the biscuits for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy these biscuits warm, ideally with raspberry jam or your favorite spread.
