Better than Jim ‘N Nick’s Cheesy Biscuits

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder (if using).
Cut in the Butter: Using a pastry cutter or your fingertips, cut the cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Add Cheese: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
Step 2: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Whisk Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, buttermilk, and egg.
Form the Dough: Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring gently with a spatula until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the biscuits tender.
Step 3: Shape and Bake

Portion the Dough: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and puffed.
Step 4: Add the Glaze

Make the Honey Butter Glaze: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and honey until smooth.
Brush the Biscuits: As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, generously brush them with the honey butter glaze.
Step 5: Serve Warm
Enjoy the biscuits warm, straight out of the oven, for the best texture and flavor!
