Add the cherry tomatoes and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften.
Transfer the sautéed onions and tomatoes to an oven-safe dish, placing the marinated chicken breasts on top.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the chicken, then place the dish in the oven to bake for about 35 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
