Baked Cauliflower Cheese: Comfort Food at Its Best

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cauliflower florets and cook for 5-7 minutes until tender but still firm. Drain well and set aside.
2. Make the Cheese Sauce
In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat.
Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Gradually pour in the milk, whisking to remove any lumps.
Continue to cook and stir until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in the cheddar cheese, mustard powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.
3. Assemble the Dish
Place the cooked cauliflower florets into the greased baking dish.
Pour the cheesy sauce over the cauliflower, ensuring it’s well-coated.
4. Prepare the Topping
In a small bowl, mix together panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, and Parmesan cheese.
Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top of the cauliflower and cheese sauce.
5. Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
6. Serve & Enjoy
Let the Baked Cauliflower Cheese rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy it hot as a side dish or main course!
