Baked BBQ Chicken: Tender, Juicy, and Flavorful

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken pieces dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This helps the chicken skin become crispy as it bakes.

Season the Chicken: In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over the chicken pieces, ensuring they’re coated well.

Bake the Chicken: Place the seasoned chicken pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes (for boneless pieces) or 35-40 minutes (for bone-in pieces), or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

Apply BBQ Sauce: During the last 5 minutes of baking, brush a generous layer of barbecue sauce over the chicken. Return to the oven and continue baking until the sauce becomes bubbly and caramelized.

Serve: Once the chicken is cooked through and the BBQ sauce has set, remove from the oven. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro if desired.
