Aussie Meat Pies: A Savory, Flaky Delight

In a pan, sauté the onion and garlic over medium heat until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the ground beef and cook until browned and fully cooked through.

Add the Flavor:
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, and beef broth. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes to develop the flavors.

Thicken the Filling:
Mix the cornstarch with water to form a slurry. Stir it into the beef mixture and cook until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the filling cool slightly.

Prepare the Pastry:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut them into circles that will fit into a muffin tin.

Assemble the Pies:
Line each muffin tin cup with a piece of puff pastry. Fill with the beef mixture and cover with another pastry circle. Press the edges together to seal the pie. Brush the top with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake the Pies:
Bake the pies in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy on top.

Serve:
Remove the pies from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve hot and enjoy!
