Aromatic Garlic and Herb-Filled Bread: A Rustic Delight

In a bowl, mix lukewarm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.

Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

2. Make the Garlic Herb Filling:
In a small bowl, mix minced garlic, olive oil, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper.

Set aside to allow the flavors to blend.

3. Shape and Fill the Bread:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle (about ½ inch thick).

Brush the garlic herb mixture evenly over the dough.

Optional: Sprinkle shredded cheese over the filling for an extra savory touch.

Roll the dough like a jelly roll, then shape it into a loaf or twist into a rustic shape.

Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

4. Bake the Bread:
Brush the top with a little olive oil.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

Let it cool slightly before slicing.
