In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
Drain any excess fat, if necessary, then add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
Make the Sauce:
Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, basil, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
Add the beef broth (or water) and bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally to allow the flavors to meld.
Cook the Pasta:
Add the uncooked elbow macaroni to the pot, stirring to mix it with the sauce. Cover the pot and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the pasta is tender and has absorbed the flavors of the sauce. Stir occasionally to prevent the pasta from sticking.
Serve:
Once the pasta is cooked through and the sauce has thickened to your liking, remove the pot from the heat.
Optionally, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and let it melt before serving.
