Ambrosia Salad: A Refreshing, Sweet Fruit Medley

Drain the pineapple and mandarin orange segments well to avoid excess liquid in the salad. If using maraschino cherries, halve them and set aside.

Combine the Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the pineapple, mandarin oranges, shredded coconut, marshmallows, and chopped nuts (if using).

Make the Dressing:
In a separate bowl, mix the sour cream (or yogurt) with the whipped topping. If you want a slight tang to balance the sweetness, add a tablespoon of fresh lime juice to the mixture.

Mix Everything Together:
Pour the creamy dressing over the fruit and marshmallow mixture. Gently stir until everything is well coated.

Chill:
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the Ambrosia Salad for at least 2-3 hours, or until well chilled. This allows the flavors to meld together.

Serve:
Just before serving, garnish with maraschino cherries on top if desired. Spoon into individual bowls or serve family-style as a refreshing fruit salad.
