Pat the chicken tenders dry with a paper towel. This helps the coating stick better.
In one shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
In a second shallow bowl, beat the eggs.
In a third shallow bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
2. Coat the Chicken:
Dredge each chicken tender in the seasoned flour, making sure it’s well-coated.
Dip it into the beaten eggs, then coat it with breadcrumbs. Press gently to ensure the breadcrumbs stick well to the chicken.
3. Air Fry the Chicken Tenders:
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush with olive oil to prevent sticking.
Place the coated chicken tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Spray the tops of the tenders with a bit more cooking spray to help them crisp up.
Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and crispy on the outside, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
4. Prepare the BBQ Sauce:
While the chicken is cooking, combine the BBQ sauce, honey, and apple cider vinegar in a small saucepan.
Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is warmed through and well combined.
5. Coat the Chicken with BBQ Sauce:
Once the chicken tenders are done, remove them from the air fryer.
Drizzle or brush the warm BBQ sauce over the chicken tenders, ensuring each piece is evenly coated.
Serve immediately with extra BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.
