Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift the flour and baking powder together.
Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until you have a smooth batter.
Add Corn and Walnuts: Gently fold in the corn (fresh or canned), jam, and chopped walnuts. You can swirl the jam for a marbled effect or mix it in evenly for a more consistent flavor.
Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Serve: Allow the cake to cool for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve as is, or dust with powdered sugar if desired.
