Introduction
The Galette des Rois, or “King Cake,” is a traditional French pastry enjoyed during Epiphany to celebrate the arrival of the Three Kings. With its flaky layers of golden puff pastry and rich almond cream filling (frangipane), this dessert is as indulgent as it is festive. Hidden inside is a small charm or “fève,” turning the cake into a fun tradition—whoever finds it is crowned king or queen for the day!

Ingredients:
For the Pastry:

2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten (for sealing and glazing)
For the Almond Cream (Frangipane):

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup almond flour
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Optional for Tradition:

1 fève (a small ceramic charm or bean)
