Yogurt Marinated Chicken

In a bowl, whisk together the yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Marinate the Chicken:

Pat the whole chicken dry with paper towels. Place the chicken in a large bowl or resealable plastic bag.

Pour the yogurt marinade over the chicken, making sure to coat it thoroughly, both inside and out. Massage the marinade into the skin for the best flavor.

Cover the chicken and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight for maximum tenderness and flavor.

Cook the Chicken:

Roasting Method: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the marinated chicken on a roasting rack or baking dish, breast side up. Roast for about 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is golden brown and crispy.

Grilling Method: Preheat your grill to medium heat. Grill the chicken for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, turning occasionally, until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature reaches 165°F/74°C) and has a nice char on the outside.

Serve:

Let the chicken rest for about 10 minutes before carving. Serve with your favorite side dishes, such as roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.
