Upside Down Almond Fig Cake

Prepare the Topping: In a cake pan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the brown sugar and mix until smooth. Arrange the halved figs in the butter-sugar mixture in a single layer. Set aside.

Make the Cake Batter: In a medium bowl, combine the almond flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate large bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and stir to combine. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until the batter is smooth.
