Ultimate Chocolate Cake: A Dreamy Dessert for Every Occasion

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix well until smooth and fully combined.
Gradually add the boiling water to the batter. The batter will be thin, but that’s okay! This ensures a moist cake.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
Make the Chocolate Frosting:

In a medium bowl, sift together the cocoa powder and powdered sugar.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy and smooth.
Gradually add the cocoa powder-sugar mixture, alternating with milk, and continue beating until the frosting is smooth and spreadable.
Stir in the vanilla extract and salt. If the frosting is too thick, add a little more milk to reach your desired consistency.
Make the Chocolate Ganache:

Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer (but not boil).
Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for a few minutes to melt.
Stir until the ganache is smooth and glossy. Let it cool slightly before using.
Assemble the Cake:

Once the cake layers have cooled, place one layer of cake on a serving plate or cake stand.
Spread a generous amount of chocolate frosting over the top of the first layer.
Place the second layer of cake on top and frost the entire cake with the remaining chocolate frosting.
Drizzle the ganache over the top of the cake, letting it drip down the sides for a beautiful, glossy finish.
Chill and Serve:

If you prefer a firmer ganache, allow the cake to chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set.
Slice, serve, and enjoy!
