The Fastest Puff Pastry Snack – A Crowd Favorite

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.

Stir in the sugar and cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized. Set aside.

Cook the Bacon & Zucchini:

In the same skillet, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.

Add the sliced zucchini to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened. Remove from heat.

Make the Filling:

In a bowl, mix cream cheese, dried basil, caramelized onions, bacon, zucchini, spring onions, shredded cheese, and Parmesan cheese.

Add salt to taste and stir until well combined.

Assemble the Pastry:

Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.

Spread the prepared filling evenly over the dough.

Roll the pastry into a log or fold it into squares, depending on your preference.

Egg Wash & Bake:

Beat the egg and brush it over the top of the pastry for a golden finish.

Place the pastry on a lined baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Serve & Enjoy:

Let the pastry cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
