Sticky Chicken Rice Bowls: Sweet, Savory, and Satisfying

Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken pieces and cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is browned and cooked through.
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
Step 2: Make the Sticky Sauce
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet.
Stir everything together and bring the sauce to a simmer. Let it cook for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
Step 3: Combine Chicken with the Sauce
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss it in the sticky sauce until it’s well coated.
Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to cling to the chicken pieces.
Step 4: Assemble the Bowls
Divide the cooked rice among serving bowls.
Spoon the sticky chicken over the rice.
Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for added flavor and a fresh crunch.
