Soft Butter Cake: A Simple and Irresistible Delight

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round or square cake pan, or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Prepare the Dry Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Cream the Butter and Sugar:
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together using an electric mixer on medium speed for about 3–4 minutes, until light and fluffy.

Add the Eggs and Vanilla:
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Alternate Adding Dry Ingredients and Milk:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in three parts, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined—do not overmix.

Bake the Cake:
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool and Serve:
Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar for a simple garnish, if desired.
