Soft and Fluffy Milk Bread Loaf

In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

Mix the Dough:

Add the melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture. Stir to combine.

Gradually add flour and salt. Mix until a sticky dough forms.

Knead the Dough:

Knead by hand or with a stand mixer for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. The dough should be soft but not overly sticky.

First Rise:

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Shape the Dough:

Punch down the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface.

Shape it into a loaf and place it in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.

Second Rise:

Cover loosely and let it rise for another 30–40 minutes, until puffy and nearly doubled.

Bake:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown on top and hollow-sounding when tapped.

Cool:

Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
