Simple and Delicious: No-Egg, No-Milk Flatbread with Just Flour and Hot Water

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and a pinch of salt (if using).
Gradually pour in the hot water while stirring with a wooden spoon.
Once the dough starts to come together, knead it with your hands until it’s soft and smooth. This should take about 3-4 minutes. If the dough is sticky, sprinkle in a little extra flour.
Step 2: Rest the Dough
Cover the dough with a clean towel and let it rest for 15-20 minutes. This helps the gluten relax, making the dough easier to roll out.
Step 3: Roll Out the Dough
Divide the dough into 6-8 equal portions.
On a floured surface, roll each piece into a thin, round shape (about 1/8 inch thick).
Step 4: Cook the Flatbread
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Place a rolled-out flatbread onto the hot skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until you see golden brown spots. If desired, brush lightly with oil for extra flavor and crispiness.
Step 5: Serve
Stack the cooked flatbreads in a clean towel to keep them warm and soft.
Serve immediately with your favorite dips, curries, or fillings.
