Salted Caramel Pretzel Bars: The Ultimate Sweet and Salty Treat

In a medium bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, sugar, and melted butter. Stir until the mixture is well combined.
Press the pretzel mixture evenly into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish to form the crust.
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, until it’s golden and slightly crispy. Remove it from the oven and set aside to cool while you prepare the caramel layer.
Make the Caramel Layer:

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the brown sugar and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves.
Stir in the heavy cream and continue simmering for another 2-3 minutes, or until the caramel thickens slightly.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
Assemble the Bars:

Pour the hot caramel mixture over the cooled pretzel crust, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
Allow the caramel to cool and set for about 30 minutes at room temperature, or place the pan in the fridge to speed up the process.
Add the Final Touches:

Once the caramel has set, sprinkle the top with mini chocolate chips (optional) and a pinch of sea salt.
Slice the bars into squares or rectangles, and enjoy!
