Rodent-Free Forever: The Most Popular Natural Method to Eliminate Mice and Rats

Clean and disinfect the area:
Wipe down surfaces and trails where you’ve seen droppings using white vinegar. This removes scent markers that attract more rodents.

Seal all entry points:
Use steel wool to fill cracks and holes (especially around pipes, vents, and baseboards). Then, apply caulk or foam to seal over it. Mice can’t chew through steel wool!

Repel with peppermint oil:

Soak cotton balls in peppermint oil.

Place them in corners, near suspected entry points, and anywhere droppings were found.

Refresh every 3–5 days. Rodents hate the strong scent.

Optional trap method:
Mix equal parts baking soda and sugar. The sugar lures the rodents, while the baking soda reacts with stomach acid, which can be fatal to them. Place the mix in small containers out of reach of pets and children.
