Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
Chop the bacon into small pieces and cook it in a pan over medium heat until crispy. Drain excess fat on a paper towel and set aside.
Grate the mozzarella cheese and set it aside.
Chop the dill finely for garnish later.
2. Assemble the Puff Pastry:
Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a flat surface.
Spread a thin layer of mustard on one sheet of the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
Spread ketchup on the other sheet of puff pastry.
3. Layer the Filling:
Sprinkle the cooked bacon pieces evenly over the mustard-coated pastry sheet.
Add the grated mozzarella cheese over the bacon.
Top with a sprinkle of fresh dill for extra flavor.
4. Fold and Cut:
Carefully place the second puff pastry sheet (with ketchup) on top of the first, ensuring the fillings are sandwiched between the two layers.
Press down gently along the edges to seal the pastry.
Using a sharp knife, cut the filled puff pastry into bite-sized squares or strips.
5. Egg Wash and Bake:
Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the top of the pastry pieces for a golden finish.
Place the puff pastry pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
6. Serve:
Let the puff pastry bites cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional fresh dill for a pop of color and flavor.
