Step 2: Boil the Pasta
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook the elbow macaroni, but stop 3 minutes before the time on the box says. Drain and set aside.
Step 3: Cook the Beef
Heat a large skillet over high heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook for 6-7 minutes, breaking up the beef as it browns. Drain the excess grease.
Step 4: Add Flavor
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Then, mix in the Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, and diced tomatoes. Combine everything well.
Step 5: Season it Up
Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
Step 6: Combine & Bake
Stir in the cooked macaroni and shredded cheddar cheese.
If your skillet is oven-safe, pop it in the oven for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and the cheese is melted. If not, transfer everything to a casserole dish before baking.
Step 7: Serve Hot
Serve the goulash hot, and enjoy the cheesy, cozy goodness!
