Old-Fashioned Fudge: A Classic, Creamy Treat

Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent the fudge from sticking.
Combine the Ingredients:

In a medium saucepan, mix the granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Stir in the whole milk and set the saucepan over medium heat.
Cook the Mixture:

Stir the mixture constantly as it heats, making sure the sugar and cocoa dissolve completely. Once the mixture starts to simmer, let it cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. You’ll want it to reach a gentle boil.
Add Butter and Vanilla:

Once the mixture has thickened, remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the butter and vanilla extract, continuing to stir until the butter is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
Cool and Set:

Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan and smooth it out evenly. Let it cool at room temperature for about 2 hours or until it’s firm enough to cut into squares.
Serve and Enjoy:

Once set, cut the fudge into small squares and serve. Enjoy the rich, creamy, old-fashioned taste!
