Cook the Spaghetti: Boil the spaghetti noodles according to package directions until al dente (firm). Drain and set aside.
Make the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, and cottage cheese. Mix until smooth and well blended.
Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Once cooked, drain any excess fat, then stir in the spaghetti sauce. Let it simmer for a few minutes.
Assemble the Casserole:
Place a few slices of butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Spread half of the cooked spaghetti noodles in the dish.
Pour the cream cheese mixture over the noodles and spread it out evenly.
Layer the remaining spaghetti noodles on top of the cream cheese mixture.
Add a few more slices of butter on top of the noodles.
Pour the beef and spaghetti sauce mixture over the top of the noodles.
Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes.
Add the Cheese: After 30 minutes, sprinkle your desired amount of grated cheddar cheese over the casserole and return it to the oven for another 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
