Melt-in-Your-Mouth Orange Cookies – A Citrus Delight

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a separate large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the egg, orange zest, orange juice, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using) to the butter mixture. Beat until well combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix the dough.
Step 2: Shape and Bake the Cookies
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Lightly flatten each cookie dough ball with the back of a spoon or your fingers.
Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The center should still look soft but set.
Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 3: Make the Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, orange juice, orange zest, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies once they are completely set.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy
Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before serving the cookies. Enjoy with a hot beverage or as a sweet snack!
