Melt-in-Your-Mouth Cheese Sauce for French Fries: A Perfectly Creamy Companion

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add the flour and whisk it together to form a smooth paste. This mixture, known as a roux, will help thicken the cheese sauce. Continue to cook the roux for about 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
Add the Milk:

Gradually pour in the milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Keep whisking until the sauce begins to thicken, about 3-4 minutes. If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can let it cook a little longer until it reaches your desired consistency.
Add the Cheese and Seasonings:

Once the sauce has thickened, reduce the heat to low and add the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir continuously until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Add garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika (if using), and season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir until all the seasonings are well incorporated.
Serve:

Pour the cheese sauce over hot, crispy French fries or serve it as a dipping sauce on the side. Garnish with fresh parsley for an extra pop of color and flavor.
