Juicy Roast and Homemade Gravy: A Comforting Dinner Recipe

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for roasting.

Season the Roast: Rub the roast with olive oil, salt, and pepper to ensure it’s well-seasoned and full of flavor.

Roast the Meat: Place the seasoned roast in a roasting pan and roast in the oven for about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your preferred level of doneness.

Prepare the Gravy Base: While the roast is cooking, heat a pan on the stove. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic in the pan until softened and translucent.

Make the Roux: Add the flour to the pan, stirring to create a roux. Gradually whisk in the broth, ensuring the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Simmer the Gravy: Let the gravy simmer on low heat, stirring occasionally until it thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and add fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for extra flavor.

Rest and Serve: Once the roast is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice it up and serve it alongside the homemade gravy.
