Irresistible Chocolate Banana Cake

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.

Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, and vegetable oil. Beat them together until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.

Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with milk (or buttermilk). Start and finish with the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined—do not overmix.

Add Chocolate Chips and Nuts (Optional): If you’re using chocolate chips and/or chopped nuts, gently fold them into the batter.

Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve and Enjoy: Once cooled, slice and serve. You can enjoy it as is, or add a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of chocolate ganache for an extra touch of indulgence.
