Incredibly Delicious and Simple Puff Pastry Dessert with Apples and Cottage Cheese

Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, combine the grated apples, cottage cheese, sugar, and starch. Mix everything together until well incorporated. The starch will help thicken the mixture.

Prepare the puff pastry: Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. If needed, cut it into squares or rectangles, depending on the shape you want for your dessert.

Fill the pastry: Place a spoonful of the apple and cottage cheese filling in the center of each puff pastry piece. Be careful not to overfill to ensure the pastry can close properly.

Seal and egg wash: Fold the puff pastry over the filling to form a pocket or rectangle. Press the edges to seal them well. Brush the top of each pastry with a beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake: Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden and puffed up.

Cool and serve: Allow the pastries to cool slightly before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar for extra sweetness.
