Ant Bait: Set up ant baits around areas where you see flying ants. These baits contain poison that worker ants carry back to the nest, which will eventually kill the colony.
Ant Traps: Place ant traps along the ant trails or where flying ants are frequent. The traps attract ants, and once they enter, they’re trapped and killed.
2. Vacuum Them Up
Quick Clean-Up: If you spot flying ants, quickly vacuum them up with a handheld vacuum. This will help reduce the number of ants in your home. Be sure to dispose of the vacuum bag immediately to prevent them from escaping.
3. Use Natural Remedies
Cinnamon: Ants dislike cinnamon. Sprinkle ground cinnamon along entry points or ant trails to repel them.
Vinegar Spray: Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray this mixture on the flying ants and along their trails to kill them and erase their scent trails.
Essential Oils: Peppermint, tea tree, and lemon essential oils are natural ant repellents. Add a few drops of essential oil to water and spray around areas where flying ants are present.
Step 3: Prevent Future Infestations
To ensure flying ants don’t return, follow these preventative measures:
1. Seal Entry Points
Inspect Your Home: Check for cracks in windows, doors, and foundation walls. Seal any gaps with caulk or weatherstripping to prevent ants from entering.
Check Vents and Utility Lines: Ensure that vents and utility lines are properly sealed and that there are no entry points for ants.
2. Remove Food Sources
