Homemade Buttercakes

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Prepare a muffin tin or cupcake molds, and place paper liners inside if available.
2. Mix Butter and Sugar:

In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
3. Add Eggs:

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition to ensure a smooth batter.
4. Add Flavoring:

Stir in the vanilla extract and citrus zest (lemon or orange) for a delightful aromatic twist.
5. Sift Dry Ingredients:

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour and baking powder.
6. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

Gradually add the sifted flour mixture to the butter and egg mixture, alternating with the milk.
Mix until everything is well combined, but avoid overmixing to keep the batter light and fluffy.
7. Fill Molds:

Pour the batter into the cupcake molds, filling each about 2/3 full to leave room for rising.
8. Bake:

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
9. Cool and Serve:

Once baked, remove the buttercakes from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
Enjoy these Homemade Buttercakes with a cup of tea or coffee for a perfect treat!
