Mix Dry Ingredients:

Beat the Wet Ingredients:
In a large bowl, beat the sugar, eggs, and oil until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla and dulce de leche, mixing until fully combined.
Combine & Add Buttermilk:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Mix just until smooth and lump-free.
Bake:
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool & Layer:
Let cakes cool completely. Spread a generous layer of dulce de leche between the cakes and over the top. Add whipped cream or frosting if desired.
