Garlic-Infused Butter Shrimp and Rice Tower: A Show-Stopping Dinner

Cook the Rice: Start by rinsing the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a medium saucepan, bring the chicken or vegetable broth to a boil. Stir in the rice, saffron (if using), and a pinch of salt. Lower the heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed. Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice for added brightness. Set aside.

Sauté the Shrimp: While the rice is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Garlic-Infused Butter: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic. Add the butter to the skillet, letting it melt and infuse with the garlic. Stir in the smoked paprika, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assemble the Tower: To form the rice and shrimp tower, use a small bowl or a ring mold to shape the rice. Pack the cooked rice tightly into the mold and invert it onto the center of a plate. Arrange the shrimp around the base of the rice tower in a circular pattern. Spoon the garlic-infused butter sauce over the shrimp and rice, allowing it to soak into the rice for extra flavor.

Serve and Garnish: Garnish the tower with fresh chopped parsley and additional lemon zest for a pop of color and freshness. Serve immediately, making sure to drizzle extra garlic butter sauce over the top for an added burst of flavor.
