Garlic Herb Chicken & Mushroom Orzo Delight: A Flavorful One-Pan Meal

In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, dried thyme, oregano, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Rub the garlic herb mixture evenly over the chicken breasts, making sure they’re well coated.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the chicken breasts. Cook for 6-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C).
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside to rest.
Step 2: Prepare the Mushroom Orzo
In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
Add the sliced mushrooms and diced onion to the pan. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the mushrooms release their moisture and become golden brown.
Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in the dry white wine (or chicken broth) and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the liquid to reduce by half.
Add the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Stir in the orzo and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the orzo is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.
Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the sauce is creamy and the orzo is fully cooked.
Step 3: Combine and Serve
Slice the cooked chicken into strips or bite-sized pieces.
Add the sliced chicken to the skillet with the mushroom orzo and gently stir to combine.
Garnish with fresh parsley for a burst of color and extra flavor.
Step 4: Serve
Serve the Garlic Herb Chicken & Mushroom Orzo Delight hot, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese if desired. Enjoy this comforting dish on its own or with a side of crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
