In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter until the butter melts. Do not let it boil.
Stir in the vanilla extract and set aside.
Fold the Batter:
Gently fold the sifted dry ingredients into the egg mixture in three additions, using a spatula.
Slowly pour the warm milk-butter mixture down the side of the bowl and gently fold until fully combined.
Bake the Cake:
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
