Easy Homemade White Bread: A Simple and Delicious Classic

In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.
Mix the Dough:

Add the salt to the yeast mixture, then gradually mix in the flour, one cup at a time, until the dough starts pulling away from the sides of the bowl.
Knead the Dough:

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
First Rise:

Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and allow it to rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Preheat the Oven:

While the dough is rising, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Shape the Dough:

Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release any air bubbles. Shape it into a loaf and place it into a greased loaf pan. Cover and let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.
Bake the Bread:

Bake the dough in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread turns a golden brown on top. You can also tap the bottom of the loaf; it should sound hollow when fully baked.
Cool and Slice:

Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
