Decadent Chocolate Brownie Cake: The Ultimate Fudgy Dessert

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Make the Batter:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Add Chocolate Chips:
If using, fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Bake the Cake:
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it out evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs (not wet batter). The cake should have a slightly fudgy texture when you cut into it.

Cool and Serve:
Allow the brownie cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, dust the top with powdered sugar, or serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
